PREMIER ONLINE RENTAL COMMUNITY TO LAUNCH MAY 18
NORMAN – When premier online rental community www.rentOK.com launches later this month, renting a home in Oklahoma will be easier and more efficient than ever before.
What makes Norman-based www.rentOK.com special is that it provides a central online location for people on both sides of a rental transaction, enabling them to get all the information they need when they need it.
“RentOK.com makes it easy for real estate professionals and investors to market and manage rental properties and for tenants to find the properties that best meet their needs,” said Randall Agee, one of three partners in the innovative venture.
Tenants can apply to rental properties, save property searches and receive e-mail alerts that match their specific search criteria, post free classified ads, find roommates, communicate with landlords through a built-in message system and access vendor discounts.
One feature sure to please iPhone users is a free application that accesses data and photos on targeted properties with a few taps of the touch screen.
“If you’re driving around a neighborhood in which you want to find available rental properties, your iPhone’s GPS will pinpoint your location and search for homes available in that area,” Agee explained. “The contact information for the landlord or property manager is there as well, so you can just touch on the phone number or e-mail address to contact them directly.”
Through www.RentOK.com, those landlords and property managers can accept rental applications, view the activity on their listings, access rental and occupancy statistics by area or property type, receive potential tenant contacts and communicate directly with tenants once they’re in the system.
Tenants can create a rentOK.com account at no cost. For landlords, the cost is $10 for each basic listing and $35 for each featured listing, which is more prominently displayed on the site.
Features planned for rollout through the summer include:
- paying and collecting rent online
- Web site templates for landlords and property managers who don’t already have their own sites
- providing data feeds that seamlessly duplicate and update property information uploaded onto www.rentOK.com to the landlord’s Web site as well
- investment properties for sale
- and an online auction for investment properties.
“RentOK.com is a great example of Web 2.0, the so-called second generation of Web development and design that facilitates communication, secure information sharing and collaboration,” Agee said. “We don’t think there’s anything else like it in the online real estate rental community.”
